Some Streetstyle To Munch On For The Weekend

Happy Friday, lovers!!! Yay, the weekend is here! It is absolutely glorious here in LA. I am ready to chill out, read magazines all weekend and go party in Silver Lake tomorrow night with a few of my besties. Ahh, how I love summertime and the smell of BBQ in the air. To get you all in the mood for your weekend festivities, I decided to post some of my favorite streetstyle photos to get your ensemble check lists crankin'! I really can't pick a favorite. It is impossible. Hope you all have an amazing weekend!

MK wearing a simple white dress paired with her massive Balenciaga boots and a black fringed tote. Just sick. All of it. I never got over this photo.

Only Olivia would wear pumps and leather shorts on a bike ride. Oh, and throw an Hermés Birkin on the back. Normal.

I. can't. speak. Taylor takes my breath away here in Celine. WHAT IS GOING ON?!

Annnnnnd the bottom. Yes, I would wear that skirt year round.

Poppy Delevigne looking almost futuristic. Those boots are killer.

Ashley in a basic linen dress and sandals. Easy summer look. Can the dog be included, please?

Yes, yes, yes. DO wear cute little mini denim dresses with open backs. Kate's is darling.

Sigh, I would give anything to go back to America. The way you girls are dressing up (often effortless) ... LOVE IT! I wish people would stop staring at me when I'm wearing my outfits here in Belgium :)

An Interview With Juliana

Where do you live?

I live in Nashville with my fiancé, John, and our two adopted cats, Bellatrix and Omar.

Why did you create a blog?

I have actually been blogging for many years now. My first blog was created with my best friend, Liza. "I LIVE FOR IT" was a wonderful success and remains on blogspot for everyone to peruse. Moonstruck Exposé is a tad more personal featuring my own photography and travels. A blog for me is like an online viral fashion journal. The most amazing part of blogging is the ability to have open communication with thousands of other people that relate to my passion. Then there is the journalistic aspect. I love being able to archive and keep "post it's" per say of all the things that inspire me!

What are your hobbies?

I suppose my photography and art can fall under hobbies. I recently got the camera of my dreams and it has become an appendage ever since. It's a Canon 5d Mark II, Lens 24-70 mm and it's a beast. If I ever have spare time, you will find me running around shooting pictures. Painting was something that always intimidated me. One night I came home and John had shlepped in a HUGE piece of wood and laid out about 16 tubes of paint. He said three words to me, "Just start painting". For 4 hours we didn't speak and we just painted. It completely changed my life. I overcame that fear of, "Oh, well I've never really created art before." Now we paint all the time together and our walls are covered with our pieces. Some of my pieces may look like a 4 year old did it, but hey it's a great way to play like I'm an artist!

Favorite fashion designers?

Seriously? Ok, deep breath. Mandy Coon, Junya Watanbe, Carol Christian Poell, Acne, Carven, Damir Doma, Gareth Pugh, and Horace to name a few. If only I could afford them all!

Do you have any fashion icons?

Yes. They are mostly models. Sasha Pivovarova, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Freja Beha Erichsen, Taylor Tomasi Hill, Elisa Sednaoui, Z Berg, Dree Hemingway, and MK and Ashley Olsen of course. I could go on for a while but those are a few that come to mind.

What was your most embarrassing fashion moment?

When I first discovered Burberry in High School and became obsessed like a crack addict. I would wear it head to toe. Let me illustrate this for you guys. Plaid hat, denim jacket lined in plaid, jeans trimmed in plaid, plaid (get this) wedges, button plaid necklace, AND a plaid plastic cuff. I mean, vomit. Could it be any more disgusting? What was I thinking??? I was like a walking plaid monster. I don't know how people didn't get a migraine just looking at me. I could have caused permanent optical damage to all. Two years later I sobered up, came to my senses, and sold it all on eBay.

What are you most inspired by?

Photographers. Ah, where do I begin. My icons are Kayt Jones, Cass Bird, Solve Sunsbo, Greg Kadel, Francisco Garcia, Waldemar and Max, Tim Walker, and Tesh. To list them all would take up the rest of this page so I'll cut myself off there.

What items are always with you when you're on the run?

Face covering sunglasses, my iPhone and iPad (all the i's), a coffee the size of my head, my Canon camera, and a change of clothes in my trunk in case I have spontaneous dinner party plans cause that happens a lot! I never plan ahead. I always make plans the day of... so I gotta be ready to rock n' roll at all times with a killer ensemble which has enabled me to be ready in 5 minutes flat.

What are your favorite magazines?

Oyster, Lula, i-D,10, Foam, Dealer De Luxe, Dazed and Confused, Another Magazine, Numero, Twin, Zink, and Baby Baby Baby. I know. I am insane. It is a sickness. They're like my little bibles. I rarely read American magazines anymore other than Allure and Marie Claire. I subscribe to these more occult indie fashion magazines and have a serious addiction to them. I study the photography in them and discover new designers. These magazines are like art. I am obsessed.

What can you not travel without?

Voluspa candles, my MacBook, my camera, 10 pairs of different sunglasses, a big hat to hide from everyone (those are for early morning flights), cashmere socks and sweater for the plane, all of my Fresh products (a black tea face mask after a flight is the best), Goldfish (the food not the fish), my silky pillow (that's for my inner child), a pile of magazines, several pashmina scarves, and my massive Boris Bidjan Saberi bag from Atelier New York to stuff it all in!

Favorite places to shop?

Hmm, in LA: Church, Library, Maxfields, Opening Ceremony, Creatures of Comfort, Scout, Madison, Diavolina and The Cooper Building downtown for ridiculously amazing sample sales on Fridays. I have found some of my favorite pieces there!

What are your favorite vacation spots?

St Barts, Aix-en-Provence, London, and Whistler, Canada. These vacations were total treats for me and unforgettable!

Most treasured possession?

Possession as in singular?! Impossible. How about a few. My cats of course, the first painting John ever made for me the first 2 weeks we started dating, and my Grandmother's vintage jewelry.

What are you reading right now?

At the moment, I am plowing through a massive text book of HTML and CSS! Normally I would be reading teen novels, bahaha!

Three staples items you are loving for Spring/Summer 2011?

Anything and everything crocheted, high waisted bell bottom jeans, and small round framed sunglasses.

You always?

Remain experimental with my fashion and never take anything too seriously.
